If you haven't eaten here you are missing out! Since 2002 they have been serving the most delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Mixed Berries, one thick slice of their handmade bread, dipped in a secret batter and coating, topped with powdered sugar, blueberries, strawberries, red raspberries, and blackberries. Served with margarine and warm syrup.
Their fryer is gluten-free and their bread is homemade. My friend ordered this French Toast for our table to share but we all ordered something. I had the peppered bacon burger with a gluten-free bun. All their burgers are hand-patted 100% Angus Beef. You have a choice of seasoned fries or coleslaw.
My husband had the California omelet which came with hash browns and a choice of Toast, fruit, or biscuit. He got the biscuit and it was so good, soft and thick, homemade! The service was amazing and every member of staff was so professional and make sure you have what you need. Strong communication and everyone operates like a team.
The wait time was 45 minutes but honestly it was worth it! I definitely plan on going back and I want to take my MIL. You're missing out if you haven't eaten at The Sassy Onion. Dine in or takeout, great place for the family or even if you are alone, all around great environment and I can't recommend them enough!
Don’t miss this one! Delightful breakfast spot! Traveling through Salem on Hubs' birthday and stopped here early. Ordered The Original Mess and a single World Famous French toast to share. Super efficient server brought our meal on separate cast iron skillets without overtly indicating we would be sharing. Pot of hot coffee at our table, warm berry syrup, homemade strawberry jam. Our scramble was chock full of fresh ingredients! Requested meat on side as I’m vegetarian and my wish was granted without a hitch. French toast must be famous because it’s huge. Consider yourself warned. Haha
This became my and my husband's "place". We love every item we have ever ordered. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. Best place in the valley in my opinion.
